Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry B.Batzorig met Monday Elisabeth Barsacq, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Mongolia and Aurelia Talvaz, attaché of the French Embassy in Mongolia on agricultural affairs.

The agricultural cooperation between the countries has been intensifying recent years, particularly in the fields of intensive animal husbandry, introducing technologies for meat and milk farms in Mongolia and importing livestock from France for improving Mongolian livestock breeds.

B.Batzorig expressed Mongolia’s willingness to cooperate with France in improving livestock breeds and introducing Mongolian cashmere to the global market. He also said Mongolia wants to collaborate with French companies of agricultural facilities, and then asked the Ambassador to pay attention on realizing a joint program and project to purchase facilities with discounts.

The French export of breeding cattle to Mongolia through Russia has suspended due to some requirements for hygiene documents. However, it is possible to amend the documents in order to export the animal again after accepting the amendment by the General Agency for Specialized Inspection of Mongolia.

At the end of the meeting, the Minister said Mongolia will continue attaching special importance to the cooperation with the French Republic in food, agriculture and light industry.
