MoU signed between Olympic committees of Mongolia and Russia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ D.Zagdsuren, President of Mongolian National Olympic Committee (MNOC), and A.Jukov, President of Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), signed a memorandum of understanding on extended cooperation.

In the frameworks of the MoU, the Olympic Committees will cooperate in sharing practice on sports and technical spheres, as well as exchanging athletes, coaches and experts.

After the signing ceremony, President of the ROC Alexander Zhukov said, “Russia and Mongolia have had friendly relations since the ancient times and have history of conducting multilateral cooperation. I am confident the sports industry will support the Olympic movement to reach higher level and exchange practices to conduct beneficial cooperation,”

President of the MNOC D.Zagdsuren responded and said, “Establishing the MoU with the Olympic Committee of Russian Federation, one of the strongest countries in the sports field, is a very significant event for Mongolia. I have no doubt that many projects, programs and cooperation will take place in the future.”



The MoU signing ceremony took place during the XXII General Assembly of ANOC (Association of National Olympic Committees), taking place in Prague, Czech Republic and it was attended by E.Badar-Uugan, Secretary General of MNOC, and Stanislav Pozdnyakov, First Vice President of the ROC.

On the side note, Stanislav Pozdnyakov is a well-known fencing athlete who has won four Olympic gold and one bronze medals before becoming the First Vice President of ROC.
