Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On October 27, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Legal Affairs discussed and rejected President Kh.Battulga’s veto on appointment of the Finance Minister.

President Kh.Battulga put a veto on the Parliament’s decision to appoint Ch.Khurelbaatar as Minister of Finance, condemning the Minister’s most recent step regarding a distribution of MNT 300 thousand to state servants.

D.Erdenebat, Head of the Democratic Party Group in the Parliament, expressed the group’s intention to take a five-day break from the discussion. However, Sh.Radnaased, Head of the Standing Committee on Legal Affairs, gave a one-hour break to the group, saying “The Parliament must discuss the 2018 budget bill within the given time after the Cabinet’s proposal. The discussion requires a full Cabinet.”

As such, the Standing Committee voted and rejected the veto by 90 percent.
