Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ President Kh. Battulga received Stefan Duppel Hermann, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Mongolia, on October 25 in the State House.
President Kh. Battulga said, “Two countries have long-term historical ties. However, there is almost nothing about economic relations, except loans and assistance. We think of ways to expand the economic cooperation with the European Union and Germany.”
“Germany is credited to be one of leading countries in its urban planning and re-planning experiences. On this matter, we need to cooperate with Germany,” he added.
Ambassador Stefan Duppel expressed thanks that former Presidents of Mongolia as well as the incumbent President had patronized Germany-Mongolia joint archaeological works at Kharkhorin ruins. He also pointed out that training specialized engineers at the German Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology is one of main indications of bilateral economic relations. The GMIT was established in 2013 in Nalaikh District of Ulaanbaatar and will make its first graduation next year.
