“My way with Olympic legends” exhibition opens

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On September 16, a photo exhibition opened in the Blue Moon art gallery, Bluemon Tower, dedicated to the 25th anniversaries of the first Olympic medal of Mongolian woman and the first Olympic medal of Mongolia in shooting.

In the Barcelona 1992 Summer Olympic Games, a State Honored Sportswoman and former member of the Mongolian national team for shooting Munkhbayar Dorjsuren won a bronze medal in the women’s 25 m pistol event took place on July 27. It was the first medal of Mongolia in shooting sport.

The exhibition invited legendary shooters, who competed in the Olympics and World Championships alongside D.Munkhbayar, such as, a Bulgarian shooter Maria Grozdeva, twice-Olympic champion and three-time Olympic bronze medalist, Nino Salukvadze of Georgia, an Olympic champion and six-time World champion and Jasna Sekaric of Serbia, an Olympic champion and three-time Olympic silver medalist. Other athletes, such as, D.Sumiya, a Judo World champion, and N.Bayarsaikhan, a bronze medalist of the Barcelona 1992 Olympics for boxing, were at the exhibition’s opening.



Guests had a surprise, watching Olympic and World Championships medals of the shooters. Moreover, D.Munkhbayar is exhibiting her medals and all her items, such as, Olympic uniforms and guns that she used in times of the sport career. During the exhibition’s opening ceremony, she gifted cards of her picture with her signature.

The exhibition will close on September 18.
