July 7 - second ballot day marked as public holiday

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Friday, June 7 marked as public holiday for the second round of Presidential election.
The two candidates with highest votes MPP’s M.Enkhbold and DP’s Kh.Battulga will be running for presidency on the re-polling. As the law states, voter turnout must exceed 50 percent, while one of the candidates shall receive majority of the votes (50%+1) to win the election. If the voter turnout fails to exceed 50 percent, each polling station with below 50 percent voter turnout will conduct re-polling once more, which has to be scheduled on weekends and only the voters who didn’t participate in the re-polling will cast their votes.
Therefore, the General Election Commission is calling the public to cast their votes on the public holiday on July 7.
