Ts.Monkh-Orgil meets WB and IFC permanent reps

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Foreign Affairs Ts.Monkh-Orgil received Monday James Anderson, the Permanent Representative of the World Bank to Mongolia; Tuyen Nguyen, country director of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to Mongolia; D.Jigjidmaa, a project manager; and B.Erdene-Ochir, an action expert.

The Foreign Minister briefed about a structure and functions of the new cabinet and governmental measures to be taken by the government for stabilizing macro-economy of Mongolia and attracting investments.

“A new department on external trade and economic cooperation has been set up within the MFA’s structure, therefore Mongolia is now able to collaborate with the WB in diversifying Mongolian export, facilitating trade and learning issues of joining international trade agreements and treaties,” the Minister said.

WB officials reported about ongoing projects being implemented by the bank in Mongolia, and then reached a concurrence to scrutinize matters on cooperating in some works such as training a national group of experts to establish contracts on regional economic integration and international commerce.
