Money supply balance as of end of July

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ According to report of the Bank of Mongolia (BoM), money supply (broad money or M2) reached MNT 11.3 trillion at the end of July 2016, showing increase of MNT 120.1 billion or 1.1 percent against the previous month, MNT 1446.3 billion or 14.7 percent compared with the same period of last year.

At the end of July 2016, currency issued in circulation reached MNT 818.2 billion, decreased by MNT 21.1 billion or 2.5 percent compared with the previous month and increased by MNT 59.2 billion or 7.8 percent against the same period of 2015.

Loans outstanding amounted to MNT 12.1 trillion at end of July of 2016, increased by MNT 75.0 billion or 0.6 percent from previous month and increased by MNT 100.6 billion or 0.8 percent compared to the same period of last year.

Principals in arrears reached MNT 836.2 billion at the end of July, increased by MNT 4.4 billion or 0.5 percent against the previous month, and by MNT 119.6 billion or 16.7 times compared with the same period of 2015.

At the end of July, the non-performing loans over the bank system reached MNT 1030.0 billion, decreased by MNT 5.6 billion or 0.5 percent from the previous month, increased by MNT 205.1 billion or 24.9 percent compared with the same period of previous year.
