Z.Enkhbold meets with Speaker of House of Representatives of Japanese parliament
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On the working visit in Japan, the Chairman of the State Great Khural Z.Enkhbold held a meeting with Tadamori Oshima, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japanese parliament, on Thursday in Tokyo.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Oshima said he is delighted to meet with the Mongolian Speaker again, and hoped that the short-term visit of Enkhbold will be fruitful. He also expressed gratitude to Mongolians and the Mongolia-Japan inter-parliamentary group for rendering cordial assistance to Japan in times of a natural disaster recently occurred in a small town of Japan.
“Since the establishment of the middle-term program on strategic partnership, a frequency of high-level visits has been rising, said Oshima, recalling the Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's visit to Mongolia which was held twice within a short period of time.
“The ties between the inter-parliamentary groups at the legislative bodies of both countries has been dynamically growing. The Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) was an important step to bring the bilateral relations to a new level. I am happy that the people-to-people contacts have been intensifying in recent years,” Oshima said.
Expressing his satisfaction with visiting Japan, the Mongolian Speaker underlined that boosting relations and cooperation with Japan is one of the priorities of the Mongolian foreign policy, and the Japanese House of Representatives and its members have been contributing much to developing the friendly relations. He acknowledged 90% accomplishment of the middle-term program on the bilateral strategic partnership, and said Mongolia wants to move ahead to the next stage of this program.
Enkhbold said Mongolia hopes that the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe will take part in the 11th ASEM Summit to be held this July in Ulaanbaatar.
