Foreign Minister L.Purevsuren visits Japan
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian Minister of Foreign Affairs L.Purevsuren paid a working visit to Japan on May 30-31.
In the scope of the visit, the Foreign Minister paid a courtesy call on the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and then he held official talks with his Japanese counterpart Kishida Fumio. He participated in the Future of Asia annual conference organized by the Nikkei Newspaper, delivering report concerning the foreign policy of Mongolia and ongoing actions in Northeast Asia. He also presented measures and activities done by Mongolia for realizing the “Asian Forum” initiative which was inaugurated by the Mongolian President Ts.Elbegdorj at the previous Future of Asia conference; and cooperation tendency and goals of regional countries.
During the talks, the sides exchanged views on deepening the Mongolia-Japan strategic partnership at the regional arena, maintaining high-level reciprocal visits, co-marking the 45th anniversary of the diplomatic relations and implementing the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) which will come into force from June 7, 2016 as well as the cooperation at the international and regional fora.
