Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada Mr Daniel Jean met with the Mongolian Minister of Foreign Affairs L.Purevsuren on April 21. The latter underlined that Canada is our “Third neighbor” and an important partner.

The sides unanimously stated that the intended intergovernmental agreement of Mongolia and Canada on promoting and protecting investments will result in the restoration of investors’ confidence in Mongolia, as well as in enhancing the bilateral trade and investment turnover.

The sides also exchanged opinions on giving support to the newly established democracies in the region.

As agreed during the 2013 state visit of the Governor-general of Canada to Mongolia, ties should be forwarded in student exchange and scholarships for Mongolian students majoring in mining and other related specializations, and also by opening exhibitions about Mongolian nomadic culture and history, involving Mongolian film entities in the international film festivals, held in Canada, and by inviting the Canadian hockey teams and trainers for deepening a cooperation in winter sports, suggested the Mongolian FM.
