Speaker of parliament expects high level visits of Italy to Mongolia
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ As the Mongolia-Italy relations have been intensifying recent years, Mongolia is hopeful that the President of Italy’s Senate and the Foreign Minister will pay visits to Mongolia this year.
The Speaker Z.Enkhbold said it Friday when meeting Ms Marina Sereni, a Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies at Italian parliament, who is taking part in the 9th Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership in Ulaanbaatar.
Mr Enkhbold emphasized a role of the two countries’ legislative bodies in expanding the bilateral ties in trade, economy, humanity, culture and education spheres, and expressed a hope that the Italian House of Chamber of Deputies will ratify the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement established between Mongolia and the European Union (EU).
The Speaker pointed out that Mongolia will back Italy at the 2016 election of the Non-Permanent Membership of the UN Security Council, and hoped that Italy will support Mongolia in the same election of 2022. Then he conveyed his greetings to Ms Laura Boldrini, the President of the Chamber of Deputies.
In turn, Ms Sereni thanked the Speaker for the audience and congratulated Mongolia on hosting the ASEP9. She said the bilateral relations and cooperation have been broadening, one of examples of which may serve a forthcoming opening of Italy’s Embassy in Mongolia.
“A Mongolian development has been running intensively, so we are confident that the bilateral cooperation will face less obstacles in the future,” she added.
Ms Sereni went on that she will convey the Speaker’s greetings to the Chamber of Deputies President, and said that it is about to submit a ratification of the Mongolia-EU agreement on partnership and cooperation to parliament. She promised to seek all opportunities to intensify the bilateral cooperation.
