Australia enjoys Mongolian folklore of “Khusugtun” ethnic band

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Live concerts by the “Khusugtun” ethnic band were staged in Canberra and Sydney on this December 1 and 2.

Co-organized by the Embassy of Mongolia in Australia, the ANU Mongolian Institute and the Mongolian Community Association in Australia, the concerts were part of the Australia and East Asian promotional tour of the band, supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, and co-run by five Embassies of Mongolia in Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and Laos.

The events took place under the umbrella of Mongolia’s soft diplomacy, promotion of Mongolia abroad, and of strengthening people-to-people ties as well as cultural exchanges between Mongolia and Australia. 

In Canberra, the concert was auditioned by more than 250 guests, including MPs of Australia, representatives of the DFAT and other governmental organizations, members of the Diplomatic corps, Mongolians in Canberra as well as general Australian public.

The Sydney concert was attended by more than 350 guests, such as the Dame Marie Roslyn Bashir, CVO,  the former and second longest-serving Governor of New South Wales; representatives of state institutions and NGOs; Australian friends of Mongolia; as well as Mongolians residing in Sydney.
