Mining cooperation with Japan expanding in coal sphere

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At the “Transparent Mining” press conference on December 3, the Minister of Mining R.Jigjid gave updates on the foreign cooperation of his Ministry over the last month.

He said he had discussed with the visiting Japanese delegation an organization of the “Clean Coal Technologies” seminar in Mongolia in 2016. This international event will concern building of small capacity pilot plant, introducing of dry procession of coal in Mongolia, and commercializing  Tavan tolgoi coal reserves.

Delegates from Japan’s state, banks, financial organizations led by H.Ando, a director-general of Economic and Industrial Policy Bureau of Japan Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, arrived in Mongolia to pay a site visit to Tavan tolgoi coal mine, he went on (Mongolia and Japan have sealed a deal to cooperate in the construction of Tavan tolgoi eastern railroad). The delegation will also leg major mineral deposits of South Gobi and get au fait with infrastructure development progresses, he added.

In November, he received the project manager of Kurimoto Ltd. of Japan Mr Sh.Ikuta to discuss about an expected MoU on production of brown coal processing, coal liquefaction and production of semi-coked smokeless fuel, he said.
