Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Khan Bank’s website has reported that its foundation donated training materials and medical equipment to the kindergarten of children with autism under the Autism Mongolia – And NGO last Thursday.

Autism is a disability that can separate the person with autism from the society. It is diagnosed by characteristics only and no biological diagnosis has been identified so far. Autism disorder is a group of complex disorders of brain development and these disorders are characterized, in varying degrees, by difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication, repetitive behaviors and restricted interests and activities.

According to the statistics, there are 20,000 people with autism in Mongolia. However, the government has not fulfilled any projects and programs aimed at developing skills and habits of children with autism to interact with the social community. Moreover, the country lacks specialists and professional psychologists.

The Khan Bank Foundation, a social responsibility implementer, donated necessary training materials and medical equipment to children of Anuulen az jargal kindergarten and made contributions to the launch of the Together for Children with Autism campaign initiated by the Autism Mongolia – And NGO.

The Autism Mongolia – And NGO was established through the initiative of the parents of a boy with autism and conducts operations in diagnosing children with possible autism symptoms and enrolling children, who are diagnosed such syndrome, in medical treatment, as well as providing parents with psychological and professional advice. Moreover, the organization carries out various trainings in developing children’s skills in social communication and interaction.
