Meat processing plant put into operation in Darkhan-Uul province
‘Darkhan Erdene’ a meat processing plant has been put into operation in Darkhan-Uul aimag on December 25. The plant has a capacity to slaughter 100 head of large cattle and 500 head of sheep and goats a day and also it has rooms for boniing, cooling and freezing deeply and a storehouse to reserve meat. 40 workers are employed at the plant.

MONTSAME Agency names Mongolia's Top 10 highlights of 2017.   The Mongolian people elected former Member of Parliament Battulga Khaltmaa as Mongolia's 5th President in Mongolia’s first two-round election. On October 4, Parliament appointed former Deputy Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh as Mongolia’s 30th Prime Minister. The Mongolian Government and the IMF agreed on a three-year Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program with a total external financing package of USD 5.5 billion. The year 2017 has seen major developments in renewable energy with the inauguration of wind farms and solar power plants. Mongolia became the 51st country to send a satellite into space. Mongolian memory athletes of the National Intellectual Academy grabbed a total of 760 medals from 46 competitions and championships around the world in 2017.

Gold buying price to be set at USD2 lower than London Metal Exchange rate
Beginning from January 1, 2018 the Bank of Mongolia (BoM) will set the gold buying price at the rate, reducing the latest gold price on London Metal Exchange (LME) by USD2, according to the Governor’s order of the Bank of Mongolia on December 4.
