Mongolia announces nationally determined contribution for Paris Agreement
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. With purpose of tackling climate change, one the pressing global issues, world countries have undertaken nationally determined contributions within in the scope of the Paris Agreement, which sets out to limit global warming to well below 2°C and pursuing efforts to limit it to 1.5°C and aims to strengthen countries' ability to deal with the impacts of climate change and support them in their efforts. Mongolia ratified the Paris Agreement in 2016.

World Open Powerlifting Championship 2019 is being held on November 17-23 in Dubai, United Arabic Emirates. 234 athletes from 37 countries are competing in the tournament.

New Governor of central bank appointed
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Yesterday, Parliament dismissed Governor of the Bank of Mongolia N.Bayartsaikhan from his position. On November 22, at its plenary session, the Parliament backed to appoint B.Lkhagvasuren as a new head of the central bank of Mongolia.

Researchers present artifacts proving ancient Mongolians having lived in India
Co-organized by the Embassy of India in Mongolia, and the Indian Studies Center of Mongolia, a scientific conference took place under the theme, ‘Culture and traditions of the Indo-Mongoloids of Northern India and the Himalayas, and their ancient relations and similarities with Mongolians’ on November 20.

Government of Mongolia ordered to improve Oyu Tolgoi agreements
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On November 21, Parliament unanimously approved a draft resolution aimed at protecting the rights and interests of Mongolian people in the exploitation of Oyu Tolgoi deposits. A total of 46 members of the Parliament present at the session voted in favor of the resolution approval. The resolution has eight articles to ‘improve agreements regarding the Oyu Tolgoi.

On November 21, Minister of Finance Ch.Khurelbaatar and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Mongolia Mihály Gálosfai signed the amended agreement on General Programme of Financial Cooperation.

Four Mongolian artists awarded at International Fine Arts Exhibition
An artwork ‘The Night, When the Moon dreamed of the Earth’ by Mongolian painter J.Munkhjargal won the second place in water painting category of ‘Da Dun Fine Arts Exhibition 2019’ international art festival that took place in Taichung city of Taiwan on November 16.

PM U.Khurelsukh visits construction site of Tavantolgoi-Zuunbayan railroad
The construction of 414 km railroad in route Tavantolgoi-Zuunbayan is progressing successfully. The works are being conducted concurrently by dividing the railway into three parts and currently, building of 14 km dam foundation has been completed and it is ready to lay the railway track.

Chairwoman of Financial Regulatory Commission dismissed
At its regular plenary meeting held today, November 21, Parliament approved dismissal of Chairwoman of the Financial Regulatory Commission (FRC) S.Davaasuren. It is deemed that the FRC has failed to perform its duties to maintain financial market stability, ensure effective law implementation and protect consumers’ interests in a satisfactory manner.

Second joint committee meeting between Agricultural Ministries of Mongolia and Canada takes place
As according to the Memorandum of Cooperation established between the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry of Mongolia (MFALI), and the Ministry of Agriculture and Agri-Food of Canada (AAFC) on September 28, 2010, the second joint committee meeting between the two ministries was held in Ulaanbaatar on November 20.
