Project for metallurgical complex to be supported

ADB-UN Dialogue to strengthen joint efforts to support Mongolian People
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the United Nations Country Team initiated a dialogue on 4 September to discuss how they can work together to strengthen their development support to the people of Mongolia. The discussion focused on the COVID-19 response, the Government Action Plan and other potential areas for partnership.

World Bank to grant financing of USD 21 million to Mongolia
Today, September 7, Minister of Finance Ch.Khurelbaatar and World Bank Country Manager for Mongolia Andrei Mikhnev signed two agreements on financing of USD 21 million.

Book vending machines introduced
A new book sales service has been introduced. Specifically, Az Khur bookstore and Booklo online bookstore have installed book vending machines containing latest bestsellers at several locations recently. Inside two vending machines at the Dragon bus terminal, for example, there are around 250 books of 25 kinds varying from world classics, language learning books to children’s books.

Mongolia starts supplying power to Oyu Tolgoi copper-gold mine. Specifically, ‘Southern regional electricity distribution network’ state-owned company and Oyu Tolgoi LLC today has established a power supply agreement.

Wheat harvest to fully meet domestic needs
As reported at the State Harvest Commission’s meeting on September 3, this year’s wheat harvest will be sufficient to fully cover domestic wheat demand as 487.6 thousand tons of wheat is estimated to be harvested while around 300 thousand tons of wheat is required to produce flour that meets the annual domestic need.
