Burentugs Purev Wins Bayangol District’s 60th Anniversary Wrestling Tournament

Ulaanbaatar, October 13, 2025 /MONTSAME/. State Champion Burentugs Purev, resident of Davst soum, Uvs aimag, has won the wrestling tournament of 128 state and aimag’s title-holding wrestlers held to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Bayangol District of Ulaanbaatar city.

 

Purevsaikhan Baatarkhuu, holder of the Saruul Saijrakh Zaan (State Elephant) title, resident of Chandmani soum, Khovd aimag, finished as runner-up in the Bayangol District Tournament. Fourth place was claimed by Bat-Ulzii Bayarkhuu, holder of the Ulsyn Zaan (State Elephant) title, resident of Zereg soum, Khovd aimag, and Anar Dorj, holder of the Ulsyn Zaan (State Elephant) title, resident of Dashbalbar soum, Dornod aimag. Ulsyn Arslan (State Lion) Oyunbold Enkhtugs, State Elephant Odbayar Tsedenbazar, State Elephant Sukhbat Sukhbaatar, and State Hawk Batsukh Zorigtbaatar finished among the top eight. The organizers awarded the “Wrestler Close to State Title” prize to Aimag Lion Batsuuri Unurbayan. The winner of the competition received MNT 20 million, the runner-up MNT 10 million, the winners of the fourth place MNT five million each, and the eighth-place wrestlers MNT one million each.

 

Moreover, a children’s wrestling competition titled “Khuirnan Shuugigch” was held among kindergarten children of the Bayangol District. The top four children competed before the fifth round of the tournament to determine the winner. Azkhuu Batzorig from the 141st Kindergarten won first place, E. Bilguuntugs from the 57th Kindergarten finished second, and A. Enkh from the 157th Kindergarten and U. Khash-Erdene from the 141st Kindergarten secured fourth place.

 

According to the National Mongolian Wrestling Federation, the next tournament will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Institute of Physical Education under the Mongolian National University of Education, will take place on October 17, 2025, featuring 64 wrestlers, including students and alumni.
