Ulaanbaatar, September 17, 2025 /MONTSAME/. During its regular session on September 17, 2025, the Cabinet of Mongolia approved the "Air Transport Services Agreement between the Governments of Mongolia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia" which was signed on July 16, 2025, in Ulaanbaatar.
The agreement establishes a legal framework governing air transport between the two countries, laying the groundwork for enhanced aviation connections. It is expected to play a significant role in opening flight routes to West Asian countries, integrating Mongolia into the international transport and logistics network, boosting passenger traffic, and supporting tourism.
Additionally, the agreement is seen as a strategic step forward, strengthening bilateral relations, trade, economic cooperation, and diplomatic ties between Mongolia and Saudi Arabia.
In alignment with Mongolia’s long-term and medium-term development policies and supporting the “Years to Visit Mongolia” initiative (2023-2028) declared by the Government, the Ministry of Roads and Transport is working to liberalize air transport. Efforts include expanding the network of international aviation agreements, increasing tourism flows, and improving the number, frequency, and diversity of flight routes, according to the Press and Public Relations Department of the Mongolian Parliament.
