Ulaanbaatar, May 22, 2025 /MONTSAME/. An Integrated Transport and Logistics Center will be established in Hunnu City, a specialized satellite city for public administration, higher education, transport and logistics, tourism, and finance,  situated around the Chinggis Khaan International Airport in Khushig Valley

Within the framework of this plan, a Working Group was formed, and on May 20, 2025, the Working Group met with representatives of enterprises and associations engaged in the food and trade services in the capital to exchange views. During the meeting, representatives of enterprises operating in food supply logistics emphasized that besides building a laboratory, it is crucial to properly install the ventilation and cooling system for warehouses from the initial stage. The new Integrated Transport and Logistics Center will be planned and constructed meeting international standards, and suggestions and proposals from businesses will be reflected in the planning.

Annually, 184.6 thousand tons of potatoes and vegetables are demanded for the densely populated capital. The current storage capacity is 89.1 thousand tons or 43 percent of the demand. Therefore, there is a need to build new warehouses with a capacity of 50 thousand tons. The optimal solution is considered the Integrated Logistics Center in Hunnu City. Currently, there are more than 10 private terminals and more than 100 enterprises providing transport and logistics services in the capital.

Ulaanbaatar city has low efficiency and productivity in terms of transport logistics. Containers arriving at the railway station in the capital are manually sorted and distributed to 10 terminals in a small number of wagons. In other words, the cost per container is high. Also, the equipment of each of the 10 terminals is not used to its full capacity, or about 40 percent of the cargo unloaded at the terminals is transported to the rural areas. In addition, every logistics company wants to have its own dedicated area, but there is no space in the capital. Therefore, the establishment of the Hunnu City Integrated Transport and Logistics Center can completely solve these problems, reported the Governor’s Office of the Capital.
