Citizens to be voluntarily involved in autumn harvesting

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. During the Cabinet meeting dated July 20, a resolution 'On some measures to be taken in preparation for autumn harvesting' was approved.
In order to carry out this autumn’s harvesting on time, the relevant ministers were instructed to take organizational measures to involve TVET students, cadets, military personnel, and other citizens in the harvesting work on a voluntary basis. Also, Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry G.Yondon was instructed to ensure the supply of fuel needed for harvesting and hay fodder preparation, to quickly transport imported machinery, equipment, goods, and materials across the state border, to identify and repair damaged roads and bridges for harvesting and transporting crops.
This year, sowing has been
made to 478.7 thousand hectares nationwide, of which grain in 347.7 thousand
hectares (wheat in 331.0 thousand hectares), potatoes in 17.9 thousand
hectares, vegetables in 7.9 thousand hectares, fodder plants in 16.8 thousand
hectares, and oil plants in 81.2 thousand hectares.
