Environment Ministers of Asia-Pacific to convene in Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On July 18, Minister of Environment and Tourism B.Bat-Erdene met with UN Resident Coordinator Tapan Mishra.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on organizing the ministerial level meeting on the environment, which will bring more than 50 ministers of Asia-Pacific countries in Mongolia in the first quarter of 2023.
Resident Coordinator Tapan Mishra expressed his support and cooperation in organizing the meeting that will touch on the issues of air pollution, climate change, and desertification.
In addition, an international
conference for children and youth to unite their voices against climate change
and desertification will be held on August 25 and 26. This meeting is one of
the initiatives of President of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh as part of COP17 that will
be held in Mongolia in 2026.
