The Mongol Messenger announces its annual essay contest in English

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The Mongol
Messenger, English weekly newspaper operated by MONTSAME National News Agency,
announces its annual essay contest in English among 10-12th grade students studying
at high schools in Ulaanbaatar that have a special curriculum for English. It is
the third year the contest is being organized.
The contest aims to encourage
students to improve their English writing skills, discover youths’
views on their country – Mongolia, and contribute to the promotion of
Mongolia abroad by publicizing the best essay of the contest through the
agency’s website, newspaper and magazine.
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the People’s Revolution of Mongolia and the 100th
anniversary of the establishment of the Mongolian National
News Agency MONTSAME, this year’s essay contest will be held under the
topic ‘Historic
achievements of modern Mongolia in the last 100 years’.
The previous
two editions of the contest were organized in collaboration with the British
Embassy in Mongolia, however due to the current COVID-19 pandemic situation,
the Embassy will not be co-hosting the essay
contest this year.
Essays for the contest must be
written in English under the topic ‘Historic achievements of modern Mongolia in the last 100 years’
with a maximum of 800 words, and sent to the following email
addresses:
mongolmessenger@gmail.com or mongolmessenger@montsame.gov.mn.
The deadline for the essay submission
is December 6.
The best three essays will be
selected, and the following awards will be presented this December:

1st prize: Trophy, certificate, and prize of MNT 500,000,
• 2nd
prize: Trophy, certificate, and prize of MNT 300,000,
• 3rd prize: Trophy, certificate, and prize of MNT 200,000.
