Candidates to run for parliamentary elections promulgated

June 29, 2016 is the polling day for parliamentary elections. According to the law, election campaigns will start on June 11.

On June 7, candidates to stand for elections received their certificates from the General election commission. A total of 498 candidates from 12 political parties and 3 coalitions including 69 independent candidates will run for the upcoming elections. The upcoming elections is distinctive from the previous for having the largest number of candidates.
Namely,
the Mongolian People’s Party nominates 76 candidates,
the Democratic Party – 76 candidates,
the Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party – 71 candidates,
the “Sovereignty and Unity” coalition - 44 candidates,
the Republican Party (RP) - 36 candidates;
the Civil Movement Party (CMP) - 27 candidates;
the Mongolian Social Democratic Party (MSDP) -17 candidates;
the Civil Will - Green Party -15 candidates;
the Mongolian Conservative Party (MCP) and the “Cherish the People” Party - 13 candidates each;
the Mongolian Conservative United Party (MCUP) - 11 candidates;
the “Khaan Choice”, “Freedom Exercising" Party and the Unified Coalition of Patriots - 9 candidates each.
The Democratic Movement Party (DMP) will participate in the election with the least number of candidates or -3 candidates.
