Harvard Medical School’s T2T program commences in Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Training to Teacher (T2T) program by the Harvard Medical School launched on October 9 at the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences (MNUMS).

In frames of the T2T Program-Mongolia initiative between the MNUMS, the Harvard Medical School and the Mongolian Health Initiative (MHI), the special program will run from October 9 to May 31, 2018.

The T2T Program aims to instruct established Mongolian doctors in modern teaching techniques emphasized at Harvard Medical School, and strengthen faculty members of medical universities or institutions and healthcare workers, investigators, and physicians related to graduate training in the medical field. The medical educational techniques include learner-centered teaching, small group teaching, systematic approaches to curriculum design and assessment, and team-based learning. 

The one-year training is being attended by 50 faculty members of the MNUMS, which is covering the training fee of USD 2500, within the scope of its staff capacity building policy. Half of the fee is financed by the Asian Development Bank in scope of the Higher Education Reform Project, which is implemented by the Mongolian Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports. Moreover, 59 people representing other private universities and health organizations are attending the training.

The T2T Program includes in-person workshops, online lectures, team projects, individual and team-based learning supplemented by interactive webinars taught by senior faculty from Harvard Medical School recognized for expertise in medical education, curriculum development, and evaluation.
