Infant mortality under five increased by more than 30%
SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the first five montsh of 2016, 32,064 mothers gave births and the number of live births reached 32,216, showing increase of 1,217 mother or 3.7% and 1,277 live births or 3.8% respectively against the same period of 2015.
In May only, number of mothers who delivered was 6,780 and of live births – 6,816, that decreased by 103 mothers or 1.5% and 116 children or 1.7% respectively compared to May 2015.
Infant mortality under five increased by 31.7% against the same period of last year, with 814 deaths in the first five months of 2016.
