Parliamentary Standing Committee Meets IFAD Delegation

Ulaanbaatar, April 15, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Member of Parliament and Chair of the Standing Committee on Economy, Seddorj Renchinbyamba, and Member of Parliament, Batbold Rinchindorj, met with a delegation led by Jerry E. Pacturan, Country Director for Mongolia, Afghanistan, Iran, and Papua New Guinea at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
At the beginning of the meeting, Chair Seddorj expressed appreciation for the successful implementation of the project “Market and Pasture Management Development” in Mongolia, noting that it has provided meaningful support to the development of the agricultural sector. He also said that if a draft loan agreement aligned with the Law on Debt Management and the Government’s debt management strategy is submitted to Parliament under the project framework, it would receive support.
Country Director Pacturan thanked the Chair and presented projects and programs implemented in Mongolia. He also informed that the IFAD Executive Board has approved additional financing to continue the project. He further emphasized that the future efforts will focus on increasing herder household incomes, developing value chains, strengthening resilience to climate change, supporting sustainable pasture management, and promoting policy reforms and improvements, with particular attention to ensuring effective implementation of the project.
Chair Seddorj
also stressed the importance of improving access to education for herders’
children and noted ongoing efforts to enhance both distance and classroom
learning environments. In addition, Member of Parliament Batbold Rinchindorj sought
clarification on the project’s implementation outcomes and shared his views.
