Ulaanbaatar, April 9, 2026 /MONTSAME/. President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa visited “Mogol Wool” LLC to see its operations as part of the “White Gold” program.

Since 1995, the company has been operating in wool and cashmere processing in Tuv aimag. To date, the company has commissioned facilities with an annual capacity to wash 5,000 tonnes of raw wool and cashmere, comb 150-200 tonnes, produce 150-300 tons of yarn, and manufacture 30,000-50,000 sewn products. Using its spun yarn, it now collaborates with other factories in a cluster model to produce woven and knitted products.

The company’s director, Erdenebat Ch., said that with an MNT 11.3 billion concessional loan received through the program, the company has upgraded equipment and expanded capacity, and created new jobs. In 2025, it installed 10-14 types of new machinery in its spinning and sewing facilities.

Company executives and industry representatives noted that the “White Gold” program has significantly contributed to the development of wool, cashmere, leather, and light industries, as well as the improvement of herders’ livelihoods.

They emphasized the need to continue the program, support businesses through government procurement, invest in engineering and technological education, and train skilled workers.

As part of the “White Gold” program, loans totaling MNT 508 billion were provided to 103 enterprises in wool, cashmere, and leather processing.

As a result, cashmere spinning capacity increased by 400 tonnes to reach 20,000 tonnes, while exports of combed cashmere rose to USD 330 million—4.7 times higher than in 2024. Wool yarn production capacity also expanded significantly, alongside increases in knitting, weaving, and finishing capabilities.

This year, concessional loans worth MNT 350 billion will be distributed through the nine commercial banks, according to the Office of the President of Mongolia.
