Society
Ulaanbaatar,
April 3, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The “Enerel Niguusel Oyun Bilgiin Tuv” NGO has
completed the construction of a “Senior Recreation and Rehabilitation Center”
in the 21st khoroo of Khan-Uul district in the capital and handed it over free
of charge to city ownership.
The opening
ceremony of the center was attended by the Governor of the Capital City and the
Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, Nyambaatar Khishgee, and the head of the NGO, Ajia Gegeen
Luvsantuvdan. During the event, the parties signed a memorandum of
understanding.
Under the
memorandum, they agreed to cooperate to support the health and development of
senior citizens and to exchange views on further developing infrastructure and
establishing green spaces in this field.
Capital City
Governor and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar Nyambaatar Khishgee stated, “I would like
to express my gratitude to Ajia Gegeen, the devoted followers, and benefactors
for establishing this center for the elderly of Ulaanbaatar and Mongolia. We
plan to further develop the area by creating green spaces. In addition, a
sports center will be built next to this facility, funded by the city budget. We
hope the senior center will operate continuously and provide not only emotional
and health support, but also employment assistance to elderly residents from
all 204 khoroos of Ulaanbaatar. City officials are responsible for ensuring the
center’s uninterrupted operation. Its activities will soon be fully
established, and we will organize outreach to introduce the center to senior
councils across the capital.
We will select
the contractor for the tram project by the end of April. The final tram stop
will be located near the senior center, behind the bus stop. Once the new
public transport system is operational, it will allow elderly residents to
reach the center more easily and quickly.”
Head of the “Enerel
Niguusel Oyun Bilgiin Tuv” NGO, Ajia Gegeen Luvsantuvdan, said, “We built
this day-care center to bring benefit to the elderly. Here, seniors will have
the opportunity to engage in physical exercise and take care of their health.
Also, trees and grass will be planted in the area to create a green
environment.”
