Mongolian Men’s Team Wins Gold At Heyball World Cup

Ulaanbaatar, January 20, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The 2026 Heyball World Cup was held in Brisbane, Australia, from January 16 to 19, where Mongolia was represented by one men’s team and one women’s team.
In the men’s category, 84 athletes from 28 countries took
part. The Mongolian men’s team claimed the gold medal, marking the first time
Mongolia has won the Heyball World Cup, and had the national anthem played in
Brisbane. They also lifted the championship trophy and earned USD75,000 in
prize money.
The Mongolian team was followed by teams from South Korea,
China, and Singapore. A pioneer of the winning team, Temuujin E. is notable as
the first athlete to win the Asian Heyball Championship. He also previously won
consecutive silver medals at the World Junior Championships in American pool
billiards in 2016 and 2017.
In the women’s category, 78 athletes from 26 countries competed. The Mongolian women’s team topped their group and ultimately finished in fifth place.
