‘From Mongolia to the Global Baroque’ Exhibition on Display in Rome

Ulaanbaatar, January 20, 2026 /MONTSAME/. On the occasion of the 390th anniversary of Undur Gegeen Zanabazar's birth, an exhibition titled “From Mongolia to the Global Baroque” was opened on January 19 at the Borghese Gallery in Rome, Italy.
Inaugurating the exhibition, Mongolia’s Ambassador to Italy,
Narantungalag Tserendorj, Director of the Chinggis Khaan National Museum, Chuluun
Sampildondov, and Director of the Borghese Gallery, Francesca Cappelletti, delivered
speeches.
The exhibition titled “From Mongolia to the Global Baroque”,
featuring works such as the bronze cast of “Green Tara” and the bronze sculpture
of “Under Gegeen Zanabazar”, both registered on Mongolia’s List of Unique and
Priceless Historical and Cultural Heritage, will be open until February 22.
Meanwhile, another exhibition titled “Zanabazar: Tal Nutgiin Melmii" /Eyes of the
Steppe/ will be presented to the public at the Museum of Oriental Art of Turin
from February 26 to April 7, 2026.
On the same day, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation was signed between the Chinggis Khaan National Museum and the Italian Cultural Institute.
