Ulaanbaatar, January 16, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The “Milk Immunity” Program that will provide milk to 189,600 pupils in grades 1-5 of general education schools in the capital city three times a week, will launch its implementation on January 26, 2026.
National producers are collaborating to implement the program, which aims to support the growth and development of schoolchildren in Ulaanbaatar. Within this framework of preparations for the program implementation, the Governor of the Capital City and the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, Nyambaatar Khishgee, and relevant officials met with milk producers and visited the “Milko” milk farm of “TESO” Group.
Mayor Nyambaatar said, “With a purpose to ensure national food
supply and safety, the national campaign ‘Food Revolution’ is being carried out
at the initiative of the President of Mongolia. Next year, schoolchildren in grades
1-12 of general education schools will be involved in the milk program. In
addition, we plan to increase the milk consumption days from three a week to
five a week. A study is also underway to provide high school students with milk
vouchers to use at coffee shops and to enable them to drink milk at school,
while installing Milk ATMs in school corridors for primary and secondary school
students. By doing so, dairy producers will replenish the “ATMs,” and children will
drink milk using their own cups. Furthermore, the impact of the milk program on
children’s physical growth and development will be studied over a period of two
to five years.”
Chief Executive Officer at TESO Group, Bolor Sainjargal, said,
“We are developing an industrial complex covering 45,000 square meters on a
total area of 13 hectares and are preparing to open it this spring. Production
of milk and dairy products will be increased threefold compared to the previous
capacity, making it possible to bring 400 tons of liquid milk into economic
circulation per day. At the drying facility, liquid milk is processed into
powder without losing its nutritional value or quality. We plan to bring our
national products to both domestic and export markets in line with
international standards and practices. As for children’s milk, we produce
liquid milk, powdered milk, and hot milk. We will work in cooperation with the
capital city to provide children with the most nutritious milk. Regular
consumption of milk has a significant impact on children’s growth and
development. Hot milk can also be dispensed from milk vending machines.”
In addition, starting this spring, concessional loans will be provided to support farmers in the 21st and 32nd sub-districts of Songinokhairkhan district, Sharkhad and Gachuurt areas of Bayanzurkh district, Ulziit area of Khan-Uul district, as well as Baganuur, Bagakhangai, and Nalaikh districts. These loans will include financing for equipment and seeds for growing feed crops, as well as package loans for purchasing cattle and improving or building fences and sheds.
