Cross-Country Skiers Depart for Europe

Ulaanbaatar, January 16, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Mongolia’s cross-country skiers departed for Europe on January 14 to compete in the 25th Winter Games to be held in Milan and Cortina, Italy.
The athletes, who have begun their training in Germany, will
compete in the FIS Cross-Country Skiing World Cup scheduled for January 17–18
in Oberhof. The competitions will be held in the 10 km classical and sprint
events. After they participate in the World Cup in Oberhof, International
Masters Achbadrakh Batmunkh and Ariuntungalag Enkhbayar are set to travel
directly to Italy to continue their Olympic preparations.
Meanwhile, International Master Ariunbat Altanzul, who has
qualified to compete in alpine skiing, is currently training at the Sky Resort
ski base and is scheduled to depart for Europe on January 18.
Mongolia’s cross-country skiers will compete in three
events - skiathlon, sprint, and 10 km - starting from February 7. Athlete Ariunbat
will compete in the alpine skiing slalom event on February 16.
