Mongolia and Canada to Cooperate on Improving the Capacity of Micro Mining Rescue Operation

Ulaanbaatar, May 8, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Deputy Director and Chief of Staff Colonel of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) of Mongolia Ganzorig Tsogtbaatar met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Mongolia Sandra Choufani on May 8, 2025.


At the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the cooperation between the disaster protection sectors of Mongolia and Canada, and agreed to collaborate in improving the capacity of micro-mining rescue operation and ensuring the safety of the locals who live in mining areas. Moreover, officials agreed to cooperate on forest fire suppression and wildfire prevention efforts.
