Seoul, May 8, 2025 /MONTSAME/. As the spring ripened into its full glory, the city of Seoul unveiled its most ambitious cultural celebration yet - Seoul Spring Festa 2025, a week-long extravaganza blending tradition, technology, and trendsetting artistry. On April 30-May 6, 2025, South Korea’s dynamic capital transformed into a global stage, where the energy of K-pop, the elegance of Korean heritage, and the imagination of multimedia storytelling converged in unforgettable harmony.

Far from a conventional seasonal festival, the Seoul Spring Festa distinguishes itself through its urban energy, globally minded programming, and a bold artistic vision. While many springtime observances in Asia focus on ancestral reverence and natural renewal, the Seoul Spring Festa is a forward-looking celebration that positions the city as a cultural capital in motion.

The Seoul Spring Festa is increasingly a global destination event. According to Korea Tourism Organization data, the 2025 edition welcomed around 800,000 visitors - a figure that highlights the growing global appeal of Korea’s cultural festivals.

This year, organizers expanded international accessibility through multilingual signage, real-time mobile translation services, English-language guided tours, and targeted hospitality programs for foreign guests.

On April 30, 2025, the Festival opened with the much-anticipated Wonder Show at Seoul World Cup Stadium, a high-energy spectacle that brought together the power of K-pop, immersive visual art, and cutting-edge technology. In front of tens of thousands of attendees - and streamed to viewers in over 137 countries via KBS World - the stadium lit up with synchronized drones, laser projections, and a genre-defying lineup that included NCT WISH, THE BOYZ, TWS, NMIXX, STAYC, and Hearts2Hearts.

With 17,000 international viewers, the Wonder Show highlighted Seoul’s magnetic global pull and its commitment to cultural diplomacy through entertainment.

Throughout the week, Seoul’s most iconic locations were reimagined as immersive festival zones, each offering visitors a unique window into Korean culture.

On May 1-3, 2025, Wonder Park at Seoul Plaza buzzed with themed experiences under the banners of “Inspire, Fun, and Love.” Highlights included a tranquil flower-healing garden, traditional Korean performances, and dynamic K-pop dance battles that brought together locals and tourists alike

As twilight fell, the facade of the Seoul Metropolitan Library has become a canvas of media art for three days straight. With dancers, live music, and projection mapping, these nightly performances created a dreamlike portal into Seoul’s soul.

Wonder Plaza at Gwanghwamun Square showcased the best of contemporary Korean culture on May 1-6, 2025. From K-beauty product demos and fashion pop-ups to food tastings and digital exhibitions, it became the cultural epicenter of the Festival.

Adding a playful and symbolic dimension to this year’s Festival was the first anniversary of Haechi, Seoul’s beloved official mascot. Introduced during Seoul Spring Festa 2024, Haechi represents integrity, justice, and the vibrant spirit of the capital city. This milestone was celebrated on May 1-3, 2025, at Seoul City Hall and Seoul Plaza, featuring the premiere of the animated series “My Secret Friend Haechi,” interactive zones like Haechi’s Playroom and Swimming Pool, and the launch of the official fan club, the “Haechis.”

Seoul Spring Festa 2025 ushered in a renewed vision for cultural celebration in the city, under the distinguished leadership of Kim Tae Wook, Executive Creative and Artistic Director and General Manager of the Festival. A highly respected cultural planner and director, Mr. Kim brought decades of experience to the role, having led major national and international events including the 2018 PyeongChang Cultural Olympics, the 18th FINA World Championships 2019, and the 20th Presidential Inauguration Ceremony.

During his presentation delivered at the KOCIS Center, Mr. Kim Tae Wook remarked, “Seoul Spring Festa has been newly reimagined into a ‘Fun City’ - a place where festivals and events take place throughout all four seasons. In the most beautiful season, on the warm days of spring, Seoul becomes a grand stage for celebration. Experience the city’s splendid moments, and complete your spring at Seoul Spring Festa. Make wonders.” With a career devoted to advancing Korea’s cultural presence on the global stage, Mr. Kim’s leadership ensures that Seoul Spring Festa will continue to evolve as a signature event in the nation’s cultural calendar in the future.

As Seoul Spring Festa 2025 concludes, it leaves behind more than just memories. It leaves a legacy of artistic excellence, community engagement, and cross-cultural exchange. Whether a first-time visitor or a lifelong fan of South Korea, the Festival promised one thing - you would leave changed.
