Mongolia and Türkiye Exchange Views on Potential Cooperation Under the “White Gold” National Movement

Economic Policy Advisor to the President of Mongolia Davaadalai Batsuuri held a meeting with Professor Dr. Behzat Oral Bitlisi, Professor Dr. Hüseyin Ata Karavana, Dr. Ersin Önem, and Dr. Ali Yorgancioğlu from the Leather Engineering Department of Ege University, Republic of Türkiye. The two sides exchanged views on potential cooperation under the “White Gold” National Movement of Mongolia on May 6, 2025.
Türkiye is a global leader in the leather and textile industries. Notably, the faculty members of Ege University’s Leather Engineering Department are known for providing consultancy services to factories, industrial parks, and treatment facilities, and for conducting research at the international level. The participants of the meeting noted that, with the support of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK), there is full potential for cooperation in the development of Mongolia’s light industry sector.
During the meeting, it was noted that Mongolian graduates of the Ege University’s Leather Engineering Program have returned to Mongolia and are now playing leading roles in the sector. The Turkish representatives expressed their willingness to cooperate in offering scholarships for Mongolian students in leather and textile engineering, organizing short-term training in wool, cashmere, leather, textile, and footwear industries, improving the quality of raw materials, and introducing environmentally sustainable processing technologies.
