Foreign Minister of Mongolia to Support the Activities of the ASIMON Mongolian Association in Spain

Ulaanbaatar, May 1, 2025 /MONTSAME/. At the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union, and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain José Manuel Albares, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh paid an official visit to the Kingdom of Spain on April 28-30, 2025.


During the official visit, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh held a meeting with Mongolian citizens residing and working in Spain, representatives of the ASIMON Mongolian Association, Cultural Envoy of Mongolia Mendmaa Dorzhin, and Honorary Consul Víctor Albiol Pamies. 


At the meeting, Foreign Minister Battsetseg presented the current socio-economic situation of Mongolia and the country’s major development goals. The Foreign Minister discussed the protection of the rights and interests of citizens living abroad and the promotion of national culture, heritage, and traditions to be passed down to younger generations. On this occasion, Foreign Minister Battsetseg praised the ASIMON Mongolian Association’s contribution to the implementation of the “World Mongolians-II” Program and presented a certificate of Recognition, further expressing the Ministry's support and cooperation with the Association going forward.


Cultural Envoy Mendmaa Dorzhin has actively promoted Mongolian culture and arts in Spain and has facilitated the participation of more than 100 Mongolian children in international piano festivals and competitions over the past ten years. Accordingly, the two sides agreed to enhance cooperation in culture and arts, including the enrollment of Mongolian students in renowned music schools in Spain. Minister Battsetseg also extended gratitude to Honorary Consul Víctor Albiol Pamies for his dedicated efforts in supporting Mongolian citizens and protecting their legal rights, and underlined the importance of enriching Mongolia-Spain relations with economic content and expanding cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries.


According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, over 1,000 Mongolian citizens are currently residing in the Kingdom of Spain.
