“Mongolian Horseman” Tournament Set to Take Place This Month

Ulaanbaatar, March 26, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Governor's Office of the Capital City of Mongolia and the Mongolian Horseman Association will jointly organize the "Mongolian Horseman" competition at Khui Doloon Khudag on March 29, 2025.


A total of 39 horsemen from 21 aimags and nine districts will compete, demonstrating their skill and agility in events such as lassoing on horseback and on foot, picking up a lasso or whip from the ground while riding, and roping untamed horses. Additionally, the best contestants will be selected in the “lasso horse" and the “Good Naadamchin” categories.


For the first time, the event will also feature a children’s marzai (high-pitched traditional song) chant for horse contest, a national contest for horsemen’s poetry and praises, and an equestrian obstacle course contest for women.
