Speaker of the State Great Khural Receives Chinese Ambassador
PoliticsUlaanbaatar, July 30, 2024 /MONTSAME/. Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Amarbayasgalan Dashzegve received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Mongolia Shen Minjuan on July 29, 2024.
Ambassador Shen Minjuan expressed gratitude to the Speaker for taking the time to receive her and forwarded the greetings from the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China Zhao Leji. The Ambassador expressed readiness to deepen the fruitful cooperation between Mongolia and China and strengthen the mutual understanding between the peoples of the two neighboring countries.
Speaker Amarbayasgalan noted that the State Great Khural has been formed with 126 Members for the first time in history, as a result of democratic parliamentary elections that ensure multi-party participation. The Speaker highlighted that Mongolia is striving to strengthen parliamentary democracy further and develop political parties in the State Great Khural to professional institutions and make legal reforms. Furthermore, Chairman of the State Great Khural Amarbayasgalan expressed the commitment to intensifying activities of the permanent cooperation mechanism established between the State Great Khural of Mongolia and the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China and consistently holding meetings between the Standing Committees of the two institutions.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the People’s Republic of China, the 30th anniversary of establishing the Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation, and the 10th anniversary of reaching a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
