President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa Meets UN Secretary-General António Guterres

Ulaanbaatar, 4 July, 2024 /MONTSAME/. President of Mongolia H.E. Khurelsukh Ukhnaa met United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres on the sidelines of the 24th expanded meeting of the Council of Heads of State of SCO member countries.
President Khurelsukh emphasized the importance Mongolia
places on its relationship and cooperation with the United Nations, aiming at contributing to solving global issues within the organization. President
highlighted Mongolia's commitment to Sustainable Development, combating climate
change and desertification, supporting peacekeeping operations, ensuring
security in Northeast Asia, and promoting democracy, human rights, gender
equality, and the interests of landlocked developing countries.
Secretary-General A. Guterres
acknowledged Mongolia's active participation in the acitivities of the United Nations and its
system organizations, its support for multilateral mechanisms, and its significant
contribution to achieving international community goals.
At the invitation of President Khurelsukh, Secretary-General A. Guterres visited Mongolia in August 2022. This notable event in Mongolia-UN relations is seen as a recognition of Mongolia's contribution to international peace and security and the achievements of the Sustainable Development Goals.
