Mongolian Defense Minister meets his Indian counterpart

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On October 20, 2022, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh, the Defense Minister of India, met with Saikhanbayar Gursed, the Defense Minister of Mongolia. This meeting was held under Rajnath Singh`s bilateral meetings with his counterpart from Madagascar, Mongolia, Mozambique, and Suriname who are attending the 12th DefExpo in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, and also participated in the India-Africa Defense Dialogue & Indian Ocean Region Plus Conclave.


The entire spectrum of defense cooperation was discussed during the meetings, with a focus on identifying avenues to expand mutually beneficial collaboration.


Previously, the defense ministers of Mongolia and India met just a month ago, on September 6, during the first visit of the Indian defense minister to Mongolia. During his visit, the parties had in-depth deliberations on adding momentum to India-Mongolia defense cooperation.


At that time, President of Mongolia and Commander-in-Chief of the Mongolian Armed Forces U. Khurelsukh also received Defense Minister of the Republic of India Rajnath Singh.


India established diplomatic relations with Mongolia in 1955. Mongolia has declared India as a strategic partner and “spiritual neighbor”. In 2015, a “strategic partnership” between the two Asian democracies was declared during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
