Amendments to Forest Law to be discussed at Cabinet meeting

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. During the Cabinet meeting on March
30, corresponding ministers gave presentations on the works carried out last week
within the framework of ensuring the implementation of the development projects
included in the New Revival Policy.
A ‘Certificate of permit for the construction work of energy
facility’ was granted to a contractor to continue construction works of the expansion
of Choibalsan thermal power plant in 2022.
Under the Energy Minister’s order dated March 14, executive
directors of the Southern Region Electricity Distribution Network state-owned
joint stock company, Tavantolgoi Power Plant and the National Dispatching
Center were authorized to establish a ‘Power Purchase and Sale Agreement’.
The Cabinet also made a decision to organize a stakeholders’
meeting within the framework of developing strategy and plan of action to
implement the ‘One billion trees’ national movement, and submit a bill to amend
the Law on Forest to the Parliament after discussing at the Cabinet meeting.
