Expansion of Mongolia-Hungary cooperation in culture and arts discussed

led by Deputy Minister of Culture M.Batbayar paid a working visit to Hungary on
March 9-11.
With István Kovács, Deputy State Secretary for International and European Union Affairs at Hungarian Ministry of Human Resources, the representatives discussed at length joint measures to take to implement plans agreed on at the 7th meeting of Mongolia-Hungary Intergovernmental Commission for Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation as well as the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in film studios, film studies, and film production between the Ministry of Culture of Mongolia and the Ministry of Human Resources of Hungary besides Mongolia-Hungary relations and cooperation in culture.
During the meeting, the sides agreed
to exchange specialists in cultural heritage restoration, museum studies, and conservation
of historical and cultural artifacts, expand joint efforts for the studies and protection
of archaeological artifacts, have a joint research team carry out studies in
Mongolia and Hungary, train specialists in the field on Hungarian government scholarships,
and hold the History of Xiongnu – Asia and Europe exhibition in Hungary. They
also decided to support partnerships between film organizations and
universities by establishing a cooperation agreement between the National
Széchényi Library of Hungary and the National Library of Mongolia, exchanging
copies of source documents, books and other publications, doing joint research,
cooperating in the establishment of Mongolia’s first film studio that meets international
standards, improving film studios and collaborative film projects, holding
meetings of filmmakers of the two countries, and exchanging research data.
It was also agreed to exchange visiting conductors, directors and other music artists and professionals for capacity development of local artists and provide support in upskilling those in the field. Ambassador of Mongolia to Hungary S.Baatarjav was present at the meeting.
