Anniversary of Mongolia-Ukraine diplomatic relations celebrated in Kyiv

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On January 21, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Ukraine, an anniversary celebration event took place at the Ukrainian Parliament Building. Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Oleksandr Merezhko, head of Ukraine-Mongolia parliamentary friendship group Ihor Kryvosheiev, Deputy Foreign Minister Dmytro Senik, and other officials attended the event.

 

In their remarks, the sides emphasized that relations and cooperation have been successfully developing between the two countries in political, economic, cultural, and educational areas over the past three decades and expressed their commitment to further expanding them.

 

‘Puti Tsapli’ book about young Chinggis Khaan written in Russian and Ukrainian by Ts.Tsogtsaikhan, Mongolian writer and researcher living in Ukraine, as a result of many years of research, was presented during the event on the occasion of the anniversary and the book was officially launched in the evening at Syaivo Knygy bookstore in Kyiv. Ts.Tsogtsaikhan has conducted research over the past around 10 years and translated the Secret History of the Mongols into Ukrainian, and is now collaborating with Ukraine’s Institute of Oriental Studies on the publication.

 

Mongolia’s folk band Khukh Tenger also performed at the event. 

 

Leaders of large organizations and companies including the Ukrainian Association of Geologists and Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and political and cultural figures took part in the events.
