Mongolian anthology published in Bengali language

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. A Mongolian anthology has recently been published in the Bengali language by Indian poet Amarendra Chakravorty..

 

Published under the name ‘Mongoliar Kabita’ (Mongolian poetry), the anthology has about 50 literary works in total, featuring a selection of the oldest Mongolian works such as ‘Khunnugiin Duu’, ‘Uyakhan zambuutiviin naran’, and ‘Chingisiin bilig’, pieces by authors including D.Danzanravjaa, B.Yavuukhulan, M.Tsedendorj, S.Buyannemekh, B.Rinchen, and Ts.Damdinsuren, as well as representatives of the modern poetry scene - G.Mend-Ooyo, M.Uyansukh, and B.Ichinkhorloo. The book also features sketches by artist, author J.Saruulbuyan.

 

Indian poet Amarendra Chakravorty participated in the World Congress of Poets hosted by Mongolia in the years of 2006 and 2017, and selected Mongolian literary pieces that have been translated into English in making the anthology. 


In the foreword of the book, he told the readers about how he came to be connected to Mongolia, noting that the country’s poetry reflects various themes such as happiness, sadness, dreams and ambitions, and history.
