Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Ambassador of Mongolia to the Czech Republic D.Gansukh met with Professor of Department of South and Central Asia at Charles University of Czechia, Mongolist Veronika Kapišovská on December 7 to discuss Mongolian studies at the university and other cooperation issues. The Ambassador emphasized that the government of Mongolia is giving increased focus to promoting Mongolian studies and discussed the department’s plans for 2022.

The Professor informed Ambassador D.Gansukh that the department plans to publish the ‘Mongolica Pragensia’ academic journal, organize an international conference, and put on a photo exhibition on a particular period in the history of Mongolia and asked the Mongolian side to provide some support.

The Charles University department’s Mongolian studies division conducts research on Mongolian history, statehood, religion, and culture with four professors and around 20 undergraduate and graduate students, five of whom are pursuing a doctoral degree.

‘Mongolica Pragensia’ is the only academic journal that mainly focuses on Mongolian studies outside Asia.
