Deputy Foreign Minister meets Swedish Foreign Minister

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On the sidelines of the 28th OSCE Ministerial Council which took place in Stockholm, Sweden on December 2-3, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs B.Munkhjin held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden Ann Linde.


Congratulating the Minister for successfully organizing the OSCE Ministerial Council, the Deputy Minister conveyed the greetings of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia B.Battsetseg.


During the meeting, Deputy Minister B.Munkhjin stressed the importance of active cooperation between the two countries to increase trade and investment in order to expand Mongolia-Sweden relations and underscored that the pandemic situation shows the need for more fair and transparent international trade. The two sides exchanged views on some specific issues, noting that there is a great potential for further cooperation in strengthening democracy and human rights based on common values.


Minister Ann Linde noted the successful development of Mongolia-Sweden relations and cooperation, while expressing her commitment to work together to increase bilateral trade. She noted that the sides are actively cooperating in the framework of the ‘Friends in Defence of Democracy’ and noted the possibility of further cooperation within the ‘Drive for Democracy’ initiative.
