Mongolia-Turkey intergovernmental commission convenes

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The
ninth meeting of Mongolia-Turkey Intergovernmental Trade and Economic
Commission is being organized in Ankara, Turkey on November 15-16. State
Secretary of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry
T.Jambaltseren, Director of the Department of International Law and Treaty of
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs S.Sukhbold, and other officials are taking part
in the meeting co-chaired by Minister of Defense of Mongolia G.Saikhanbayar.
The intergovernmental joint
committee’s meeting first took place in Ankara in 1994. The sides are attaching
great significance to the ninth meeting which had been postponed due to the
pandemic. They are discussing ways to expand cooperation in social and economic
sectors.
A delegation led by Defense
Minister G.Saikhanbayar met with Minister of Trade of Turkey Mehmet Mus and
agreed to pay attention to intensifying economic relations, increasing trade and
supporting business partnerships between Mongolia and Turkey and to set up a
bilateral working group.
Moreover, Minister G.Saikhanbayar held an official meeting with his Turkish counterpart Hulusi Akar to discuss at length bilateral relations in defense. They agreed to continue the assistance provided to Mongolia under the agreement on military financial cooperation. At the meeting, the Defense Ministers signed a Memorandum to cooperate in military history, archives, museums and publication fields.
