Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. October 18, 2021. Chair of the General Election Commission of Mongolia P.Delgernaran submitted the Commission decision to consider Ts.Iderbat and E.Batshugar as the parliament member-elected candidates following the results of the by-elections in the 18th and 28th constituencies of the State Great Khural.

October 19, 2021. The Standing Committee on Legal Affairs held the first discussion on the draft law on amending the Law on the President of Mongolia, which was submitted together with the revised draft law on the Legal Status of Lawyers.

October 19, 2021. The international scientific conference themed on “Mongolia-Russia cooperation - 100 years” was orgainized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia. Chairman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) G.Zandanshatar delivered the opening remarks, where Minister of Foreign Affairs B.Battsetseg, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Mongolia I.K.Azizov as well as researchers, scholars, and other officials from both sides have participated.

October 20, 2021. At the Standing Committee meeting on Economics, authorities heard the current road construction process between Ulaanbaatar and Darkhan. The road construction process was introduced by Minister of Road and Transport Development L.Khaltar. Government issued its decision in 2018 to renew and expand the Ulaanbaatar-Darkhan road into a 4-lane. The project of 204.11 km road is financed by Asian Development Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Investment, and expected to accomplish by October 2022.

October 20, 2021. At the Standing Committee meeting on Security and Foreign Policy, final discussion on amendments to the Law on Disaster Protection was held. According to the draft law, emergency personnel working in soums would be provided for a monetary reward equal to 30 months' salary every five years.

October 20, 2021. At the Standing Committee meeting on State Structure, one of the four issues discussed was a bill on amendments to the Law on Structure of the Government of Mongolia and amendments to the Law on Composition of the Government of Mongolia. Following the discussion, the majority of attended members agreed to proceed the draft law and introduce its decision at the plenary session.

October 21, 2021. The first issue discussed at the plenary session of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia was the recognition of the full powers of some members of the Parliament. The second issue discussed was changes in the composition of some Standing Committees of the State Great Khural. Accordingly, MP E.Batshugar belongs to the Standing Committees on Innovation and e-Policy, and Education, Culture, Science and Sports, MP Ts.Iderbat to the Standing Committees on Innovation and e-Policy, and Social Policy respectively.

October 21, 2021. At the afternoon plenary session of the State Great Khural, it was agreed to discuss the amendments to the Law on Structure of the Government of Mongolia and amendments to the Law on Composition of the Government of Mongolia, and transfer to the Standing Committee on State Structure for further proceeding.

October 22, 2021. At the morning plenary session of the State Great Khural, a draft law to amend the Law on Disaster Protection was ratified. After, the law on ratification of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons was also adopted. Moreover, it was agreed to make amendments to the law on Civil Service.

October 22, 2021. Representatives of the women's group in the Parliament received the UNDP Resident Representative Elaine M.Conkievich. During the meeting, parties exchanged views on collaboration issues under the “Women's Participation at the decision-making level” project.

October 22, 2021. Head of the Parliamentary Sub-committee on Sustainable Development Goals, MP Kh.Bulgantuya met with the World Bank Country Manager Andrei Mikhnev to discuss further cooperation issues.

October 22, 2021. At the afternoon plenary session of the State Great Khural, the Democratic Party faction in Parliament asked to postpone the discussion of approval of the State Monetary Policy Guidelines for 2022 and the issue is delayed until Wednesday (October 27).
